A B2B data API quotes one price and counts three different things. BlitzAPI counts every item it returns. MoltSets counts data rows inside rate-limit windows. FullEnrich and BetterContact charge in credits, so a mobile number costs ten times an email.

Here are the published prices we could fetch on 27 October 2026 in one table, converted to a price per 1,000 records at the plan's cap, and what five billing models do to a waterfall budget.

Every price here is as of October 2026, as published, except where marked as ours.

One price per 1,000 is harder to find than it looks

Start with what a record is. BlitzAPI defines it as one item the API returns: one company, one person, one email address, one phone number or one job posting. A people search that returns 25 profiles uses 25 records. And a call that finds nothing uses none.

MoltSets counts enrichment records, the data rows a call returns, and limits them per 5 hours and per week. A miss uses no records. But it still counts as a request, and requests have their own cap.

Credit vendors work differently. FullEnrich and BetterContact each charge one credit for an email (FullEnrich says work email) and ten for a mobile number, and both say they charge only when data is found. Clay sells Data Credits and Actions. But its pricing page publishes no credits-per-lookup figure for contact data.

Some prices can't be found. Apollo's and Lusha's pricing pages rendered no dollar figures when we fetched them on 27 October 2026, so neither has a price here. BlitzAPI's own benchmark methodology page, which is vendor-run, says none of the providers it tested publishes a per-unit price it can verify and date.

The only published price per returned record is the BlitzAPI storefront's $0.001 a result. Every other per-1,000 record figure below is a plan price we divided by its cap.

The table: price per 1,000 at the cap, as published

BlitzAPI's storefront says result where its plans say record, and we keep the vendor's word on that row only. Read the table with three cautions in mind:

  • The cap price is a floor. It's the cost per 1,000 only if you use every record the plan allows. The MoltSets rows convert the weekly cap to a month at 52 divided by 12 weeks, which is our arithmetic, not a vendor figure.
  • Units differ. A BlitzAPI record, a MoltSets enrichment record and a FullEnrich credit measure three different things, so a lower number in one row can still mean a higher bill for the same job.
  • The legacy row is ours. It's the BlitzAPI plan on our own account. It excludes email and phone, and the vendor's FAQ says the plans on its page apply to new subscriptions.

The credit rows show one plan each. FullEnrich's page has a monthly and annual toggle and we couldn't confirm which one the $0.055 belongs to, so it may be the annual-billing rate. Its calculator shows $720 for 15,000 credits, or $0.048 a credit, with the same doubt. We print only Pro's 1,000-credit price. The page's larger credit tiers show no price we could read, apart from Enterprise at "from $799" a month above 20,000 credits.

Five billing models and what each does to a waterfall budget

A waterfall tries one source, then the next, until something answers. Each billing model puts the cost in a different place.

Seat

A seat model charges for people. The invoice moves when you add a seller, not when you add volume. In our view, that tends to suit a small team pulling big lists and can punish a big team pulling small ones. Apollo's pricing page describes pooled credits and seats on one plan, but no price rendered for us, so there's no Apollo figure here (unverified). BlitzAPI says its prices are not by seat and the whole team shares one workspace. FullEnrich includes unlimited users. For a waterfall, the question is what the seat fee buys: volume, or only access. Our glossary entry on per-seat pricing covers the term.

Credit

A credit model charges by what you ask for. At FullEnrich and BetterContact a work email is one credit and a mobile number is ten, so the same 1,000 contacts cost very different amounts depending on the mix. FullEnrich's 1,000-credit plan is $0.055 a credit as published, and BetterContact Pro is $49 for 1,000 credits.

Rollover differs, and it matters in a lumpy month. FullEnrich rolls credits over for 3 months on monthly plans, 12 on yearly ones. BetterContact's FAQ says rollover is capped at twice the subscribed amount (its plan cards word it differently). On Launch and Growth plans, Clay's Data Credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount, but its Actions don't. Apollo's credits don't roll over at all.

Clay prices Data Credits from $0.05 each and Actions from under $0.01. But without a published credits-per-lookup figure, there's no per-1,000 number to print. Our earlier pieces on Clay Data Credits versus Actions and on whether the Clay API lowers waterfall cost cover that split, and the Clay tool page has the rest. The glossary defines credit-based pricing.

Record cap

A record cap charges a flat fee for a block of returned items. BlitzAPI Start is $99 a month for 200,000 records and Scale is $499 for 5,000,000. Same data on both. They differ in speed (10 and 25 requests a second per endpoint), cap and support level. BlitzAPI calls this allowance a fair use policy; calls pause at the limit, and nothing carries over.

The budget effect shows up in how a step is built. A search step that returns 25 profiles spends 25 records even if you wanted one. A contact found by a people search and then given a verified work email is two records, one person returned and one email found. An email lookup from a LinkedIn URL you already hold is one record.

We tested the company side on 27 October. Scoring 200 company domains through BlitzAPI cost about two records each, and the one domain that didn't resolve cost nothing. At Start's cap price that's about $0.99 per 1,000 companies. But the test ran on our legacy plan, and whether Start and Scale bill each call the same way is unverified. We did not verify that each domain resolved to the right company; a crude check flagged 8 of 199. Start's $99 price looks very interesting to us and is under consideration.

Rate limit

On its pricing page, MoltSets heads the plans "Unlimited" data and then says to pick a plan by rate limit. The rate limits decide what each plan is worth. Each plan caps enrichment records per 5-hour window and per week, and a window opens at your first request rather than at a fixed hour. Search records have their own caps.

On the $27 plan, 1,000 records per 5 hours could in theory run 33.6 windows a week, or 33,600 records, but the weekly cap is 5,000. That rules out the burst-only figure of $0.1875 per 1,000 (144 five-hour windows in 30 days is 144,000 records). At full use the plan gives about $1.25 per 1,000 (21,667 records a month).

The same conversion gives about $0.30 at $97, $0.12 at $397 and $0.20 at $997. The $997 plan costs about 1.67 times the $397 plan per 1,000, because its weekly cap rises 50 percent (750,000 to 1,125,000) while the price rises 151 percent. It buys speed per window. Each record costs more. Our glossary entry on the rate limit covers the term.

Pay as you go

Pay as you go charges per result with no subscription underneath. BlitzAPI's agent storefront prices each result returned at $0.001, which is $1.00 per 1,000, and a call that finds nothing costs nothing. Credit is prepaid by card from $0.60, and wallet payments aren't offered. No phone meter, though.

Cost rises in a straight line with use, and unused credit on a claimed credential stays as credit.

A cap price is a floor: what you pay at 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 records

The effective price is the plan price divided by the records you use. The figures below are arithmetic from the headline prices, for illustration, and they ignore speed limits.

At 10,000 records a month, the storefront costs $10, or $1.00 per 1,000. Start costs $99 ($9.90 per 1,000) and Scale $499 ($49.90), while the MoltSets $27 plan covers the volume at $27, or $2.70 per 1,000.

At 100,000 records, Start's $99 works out to $0.99 per 1,000, almost level with the storefront's $1.00 (a $100 bill). Scale is $4.99 per 1,000. MoltSets needs the $97 plan here, because the $27 plan's weekly cap comes to about 21,667 records a month, and the $97 plan works out to $0.97 per 1,000.

A million records is out of Start's reach, since its cap is 200,000. Scale costs $499, or $0.499 per 1,000. The storefront would run $1,000. And the MoltSets $397 plan costs $0.397 per 1,000, well inside its roughly 3,250,000 monthly cap.

Among the BlitzAPI and MoltSets options, pay as you go is cheapest at 10,000 records. Scale at that volume costs about 500 times its cap price.

Where pay as you go stops being the cheaper option

At the headline prices, the storefront and Start cost the same at 99,000 records, because $99 divided by $0.001 a result is 99,000. Below that, the storefront is cheaper. Between 99,000 and Start's 200,000 cap, Start wins. At or above 99,000 records a month Start costs less than the storefront, up to its 200,000 cap. Below that the storefront costs less. Level at 99,000. Ahead after.

Against Scale the line is 499,000 records. Between Start's cap and that point the storefront would run $200 to $499, below Scale's $499. But whether one buyer can combine a plan with the storefront is unverified, so we're not recommending it.

These break-evens ignore speed. The storefront caps a single purchase at $99. We found no published monthly limit.

A record is not a contact: convert before you compare

A company scored from a domain took about two records in our 27 October test: one to resolve the domain, one to enrich the company. At Start's cap price that's about $0.99 per 1,000 companies, if the new plans bill it the same way. A contact found by a people search and then given a verified work email is two records by BlitzAPI's definition, one person and one email. That's also about $0.99 per 1,000 contacts at Start's cap if every lookup hits, but it's arithmetic from the definition, not something we measured. An email lookup from a LinkedIn URL you already hold is one record.

Mobile numbers show the widest spread. Price per 1,000 numbers found, at published prices: MoltSets $150 (phone tokens at $0.15 each, sold as a monthly add-on from 180 tokens for $27), BetterContact Pro $490, FullEnrich $550 (ten credits at $0.055). BlitzAPI counts a US phone number as one record on Start and Scale, which is $0.495 per 1,000 at the cap if the number is found. The legacy plan excludes phones, and the storefront has no phone meter.

Work email per 1,000 found, counting the email record only (add the person lookup and BlitzAPI doubles to about $0.99): Start $0.495, the storefront $1.00, the MoltSets $27 plan about $1.25 (if one record returns one email, which we haven't verified), BetterContact Pro $49 and FullEnrich $55. On that basis it's more than a hundredfold from lowest to highest.

This guide covers price only. A follow-up piece looks at how often each vendor finds a number and how accurate it is.

How to budget a waterfall under each model

Run these seven questions before you cost a step.

  1. What's the unit? BlitzAPI bills each item returned, MoltSets each data row, FullEnrich and BetterContact a credit multiple.
  2. What does a miss cost? BlitzAPI, MoltSets, FullEnrich and BetterContact each say a miss uses no record or credit. MoltSets still counts it as a request.
  3. What happens at the limit? BlitzAPI pauses calls until the next cycle or until you move up a plan.
  4. Does unused volume roll over? BlitzAPI says no. FullEnrich rolls over for 3 or 12 months, BetterContact for up to twice the subscribed amount per its FAQ (its plan cards word it differently) and, on Launch and Growth plans, Clay's Data Credits for up to twice the monthly amount.
  5. How are phones and personal email priced? MoltSets sells mobiles at $0.15 each as an add-on and includes personal email only on the $27 and $97 plans. BlitzAPI counts a US phone as one record.
  6. What's the speed limit? BlitzAPI sets 10 or 25 requests a second per endpoint. MoltSets sets 5-hour windows.
  7. Who counts as a user? BlitzAPI says its prices are not by seat and the whole team shares one workspace, FullEnrich includes unlimited users, and Apollo's seats share one plan.

If you want these seven answers filled in against your own waterfall, we cost it with you. Pricing for our work is scoped per engagement.

Frequently asked questions

How much does BlitzAPI cost per 1,000 records?

As of October 2026, as published, the Start plan is $99 a month for 200,000 records, about $0.495 per 1,000 at the cap. Scale is $499 for 5,000,000 records, about $0.0998. The agent storefront charges $0.001 a result, $1.00 per 1,000, with no plan. Because a record is any item returned, a contact found by search and given a verified email is two records by BlitzAPI's definition.

How much does MoltSets cost per 1,000 enrichments?

It depends on how much of the plan you fill. Converting each weekly record cap to a month, the $27 plan works out to about $1.25 per 1,000 at full use, the $97 plan about $0.30, the $397 plan about $0.12 and the $997 plan about $0.20. Mobile numbers are a separate add-on at $0.15 each. Every figure is as of October 2026, as published.

What does a B2B data API cost?

It depends on the billing model and the unit. Published prices in this guide run from about $0.10 to $1.25 per 1,000 records at the cap (our own legacy plan is lower), and from $49 to $55 per 1,000 work emails at the two credit vendors. Mobile numbers run from $150 to $550 per 1,000 found at MoltSets, BetterContact and FullEnrich. Convert each unit to the job before comparing.

What is credit-based pricing, and how is it different from a record cap?

Credit-based pricing sells a pool of credits, and each lookup spends a vendor-set number of them: at FullEnrich and BetterContact, one for a work email and ten for a mobile number. A record cap, as on BlitzAPI's Start and Scale plans, counts every item returned and pauses calls at the limit. A credit bill moves with the data types you request, and a record-cap bill with the items returned.

Is a flat-rate "unlimited" data API really unlimited?

Not in volume. MoltSets' pricing page says unlimited data and then sets enrichment and search record caps per 5 hours and per week, so its $27 plan tops out at 5,000 enrichment records a week. BlitzAPI sets a monthly record allowance, which it calls a fair use policy, and pauses calls when you reach it. The $27 plan's 5,000-record weekly cap and Start's 200,000-record monthly cap decide the real price per 1,000. Both are as of October 2026, as published.
