MoltSets

Flat-rate contact data APIs built for Clay and Claude Code. Waterfall enrichment, no dashboard.

About

What MoltSets actually is.

MoltSets is a contact data API built for people already working in Clay or Claude Code. Instead of a dashboard, you call an endpoint that sits in front of a waterfall of 20-plus third-party vendors, and it returns verified email addresses, mobile numbers, and company or people records. There's no browser tool to log into; you either write to the API directly or route calls through MoltSets' own MCP server.

The product is still in closed beta. It shows: MoltSets' own docs mark every endpoint except company/people search as beta, and company/people search as alpha, so results and uptime can run rougher than a mature tool. Each email comes back with a risk score, and mobile numbers get checked against carrier data in real time rather than pulled from a static list. Pricing runs as a flat fee each month, not a per-record charge, worth knowing before the pricing tiers below.

What it does

  • Verified business and personal email lookups, each with a risk score.
  • Mobile numbers checked against carrier data in real time.
  • People and company search across a 20-plus vendor waterfall.
  • Reverse email lookup, turning an address into a name.
  • You reach it through the API or an MCP server, not a dashboard.
  • Built to plug into Clay tables and Claude Code agents directly.

Getting access means applying for the closed beta first, not an instant checkout.

  • 50% discount available if UGC requirements are met

Entry is $27/month for unlimited API calls, but that's gated by 5,000 requests per 5-hour window and only 100 external tokens. The real constraint isn't the base price, it's throughput and tokens: external tokens cover mobile numbers and emails MoltSets has to source from third-party vendors, and every tier caps them (100 to 2,500). Heavy phone-verification use burns tokens fast and forces either a tier upgrade or buying extra tokens separately. The free plan (1,000 calls, 100 tokens) is testing-only. The top tier lists at $997/month, discounted to $497/month if UGC requirements are met, for 900,000 requests per 5 hours and 2,500 tokens.

The verdict

Choose it, or skip it.

Choose it if

  • Teams building Clay tables or Claude Code agents that want contact data as an API call, not a dashboard to click through.
  • Agencies running enrichment at real volume who want flat-rate pricing instead of per-record costs that climb with list size.
  • Builders already comfortable reading API docs or wiring an MCP server, since that's the only way in.
  • Anyone who wants a single endpoint sitting in front of a 20+ vendor waterfall instead of managing each vendor separately.

Skip it if

  • Teams without a developer or a no-code layer (Clay, n8n, Zapier) to call the API; there is no UI fallback.
  • Buyers needing heavy mobile-number verification, since external tokens are capped per tier and phone lookups burn through them fast.
  • Teams that want a spreadsheet-style enrichment UI out of the box; BetterContact or Apollo.io fit that shape better.

FAQ

Asked in real client work.

Does MoltSets have a dashboard?

No. MoltSets is consumed entirely through its API or an MCP server built for Claude and Claude Code. There is no point-and-click interface for browsing or exporting records; every lookup, search, or verification happens through an API call or an agent workflow wired to the endpoints.

What does the free plan actually get you?

The free plan includes 1,000 API calls, a cap of 1,000 requests per 5-hour window, and 100 external tokens for records MoltSets has to source from third-party vendors. It's enough to test the API and MCP integration before committing to a paid tier, not to run production volume.

What are external tokens and why do they matter?

External tokens cover requests MoltSets can't resolve from its own database, mainly mobile phone numbers and emails it has to source from third-party vendors at an extra cost. Every paid tier caps the number of tokens included (100 to 2,500 depending on plan), and additional tokens can be purchased separately.

How is this different from Clay or BetterContact?

Clay and BetterContact give you a workspace UI for running waterfall enrichment across multiple providers. MoltSets skips the UI entirely and exposes the same waterfall idea (20+ vendors behind one call) as a flat-rate API and MCP server, built specifically for teams already working in Clay or Claude Code rather than a browser tab.

What is the $997/mo UGC discount?

The top tier lists at $997/month but drops to $497/month if the customer meets user-generated content requirements set by MoltSets, per the pricing page. That tier includes unlimited API calls, 900,000 requests per 5-hour window, and 2,500 external tokens, aimed at high-volume agency or platform use.
