Clay agency and consultant, with GTM built as code

Lead Line Partners is a Clay agency and Clay consultant for B2B SaaS and services teams. We build your Clay work and log the credit balance around every step. Where one table cannot hold the logic, an AI coding agent we operate directly runs the research and enrichment as code, using judgment rules we have codified.

Who it fits

Who this suits

A good fit

Teams that own Clay, or plan to, and need the tables built, fixed or brought under control.
Teams selling deals where choosing the right account, and saying the right thing, decides the result.
Teams that want a record of what each credit bought.

Look elsewhere

Teams that want volume lists and appointment setting at the lowest price per row.
Teams that want a single table built once, with no ongoing engagement. Ours is a retainer.
Teams that want the work kept out of sight. You read and approve it in our client workspace.

Trellis · Included with every engagement

Trellis shows you the work.

Our own workspace, and every engagement runs in it. Our team does the finding and the writing. You decide in Trellis, and every reply lands there.

When a Clay build feeds outbound, the work sits in Trellis for you to read before it moves.

What you get

What the Clay work includes

Seven things, from the first table to the exit if Clay is not the right tool.

01

Tables and waterfalls

Built on your list, with provider order set per job rather than copied from a template.

02

Lead and account scoring

Fit and intent scored apart, then checked against your closed deals.

03

Work done as code

Steps a table handles badly run in code instead, feeding Clay or replacing a step.

04

Tables your team can edit

Steps a teammate should adjust stay in Clay tables, which suit people who do not write code. Steps nobody edits stay as code.

05

Credit control

We read the balance before and after each step so the cost of each list is on record.

06

A test before any change

Two hundred of your own rows, run first, so nothing is re-ordered on a guess.

07

The route out

If a cheaper source clears your list, we say so and retire Clay for that job.

How it runs

How the work runs

Research comes first, then the build. The judgment about which accounts to pursue and what to say comes from our team's enterprise sales background, and we write it into the system as rules, so it runs the same way every time. Because those rules live in code, they can branch on far more conditions than one table comfortably holds. Where the work includes outbound, nothing sends until a person has read the drafts and signed off the exact list.

When you do not need Clay

We use Clay, and we will tell you when a job should leave it. In our own waterfall, a different source now runs ahead of Clay for the employment check, and another for work email. A Clay table still wins for bulk lists, non-engineers, row-by-row review and recurring enrichment. Decide job by job, after a test on 200 of your rows.

  1. 01A flat-rate source clears most of a 200-row test of your list: retire Clay for first-pass work email.
  2. 02Your first employment check answers and a person handles the rest: skip the fallback.
  3. 03A script or agent runs the research steps and nobody edits them in a table: keep them as code.

Quality

Why the work holds up

Our team has sold into Apple, Microsoft and Starbucks, and together we carry 50+ years of enterprise sales experience. Jeff Scott, Partner, Volga Partners: “The approach is strategic before tactical. There’s an analytical rigor to how they think about pipeline that reminds me of chess, not checkers.”

The alternatives

Clay help compared

Three ways to get Clay built, and what each one is good for.

A Clay freelancer

Who it suitsA defined build, one table, a quick start and a clear scope.

The catchCapacity depends on one person's time, and the scope is usually the build rather than which accounts to pursue.

A Clay-focused agency

Who it suitsTeams that want tables built to a proven pattern by specialists.

The catchWork is organised around the table. Logic that branches many ways can sit more easily in code, which is the part we add.

Building in-house

Who it suitsTeams with a dedicated GTM operations person who will own the tables.

The catchTables need upkeep. Without an owner, coverage drops or credit spend climbs, as our Clay review notes.

Cost

What Clay costs, and what drives it

Clay bills on two meters, data credits and actions, and the bill follows the credits each waterfall burns. Our credit article sets out the current plan table. When you compare two quotes, ask each for the plan, the credits per contact on your list, and the top-up rate. Our own pricing is scoped per engagement: a monthly retainer with a six-month minimum.
