What Zapier actually is.
Zapier connects apps so an action in one system triggers a task in another. Pick a trigger, like a new form submission, and an action, like adding a row to a spreadsheet, and the two apps stay connected without a developer writing anything. The Free plan limits a Zap to two steps, one trigger and one action. Paid plans add multi-step Zaps, where a single trigger can fire off several actions in sequence.
Beyond Zaps, every plan, including the free one, bundles in Tables (a lightweight database) and Forms (for capturing input). Zapier also sells Agents and Chatbots as separate products, built on the same 9,000+ app catalog: Agents run autonomous multi-step tasks and Chatbots handle simple conversations. All of it gets built inside Zapier's own visual editor. Webhooks can trigger a Zap or send data out, but there's no way for an agent to build or run a Zap end to end the way it could with code.
